Buildings

A quiet environment is appropriate to the activities taking place, including sleep, relaxation, conversation, office work, telephone use, worship, or performance. The noises to be controlled may come from inside the building as well as outside.

Recommendations usually apply to building services and equipment, isolation within the structure and at the building envelope, and internal treatments to control reverberation.
